Congratulations to Sara & Mike! I joined them at their Rocky Neck State Park Pavilion wedding. This was my first time at this location….what a great place! The building was so unique in look and shape -and the surroundings were beautiful as well. All the best to you both in your new life together. Props to Erica, Rochelle, and the crew at Ambiance Chic Wedding Planning (www.findambiance.com) for helping put together a beautiful event.

One of the most creative save the date cards I've seen. Can you guess their fields of study? :)

Slightly different view just after the shot above. I love the kids in this one.

Mike and Sara took advantage of the ocean side view. It was a grey, but beautiful day.

This great rock wall was at the base of the building. Had to utilize it for some shots. Love the expression from Sara and Mike.

Some of the little details from the big day.

The shot on the right shows off the great looooong, curve of the pavilion and great rustic feel with the woodwork.

Showing off their fancy foxtrot moves...nicely done.

A few more details from the evening.

Grandpa bustin a move

More fox trot skills

Just when you thought the cake cutting went off clean :)

I often take the bride and groom away from the reception just for a moment to capture a night shot like this.

It has been a while since I have been up and out shooting before sunrise. It’s amazing how different the feel of this time of day is. Everything so quiet and calm. Different sounds and smells. Photo shot at Walnut Beach -Milford, CT.

A great sunny day wedding in August. Other than a close call on the beach, (nearly melting) we all survived. With St. John’s church, Harkness state park, and the Old Saybrook Point Inn….there was no shortage of scenic spots to photograph at. Erica & Greg, you were great to work with (and your HUGE wedding party). Lots of good laughs/times while shooting. Thanks to you and your families for having us capture your big day.

bit of traffic on the way to Harkness...

...didn't seem to bother the passengers

The party of 20 kept the entrances creative...

So people have been asking me about what this Kiteboarding sport is all about. Well the short answer is Kiteboarding is the most amazing sport I have ever experienced….ever! I made this video with a diy cam rig that I made out of pvc. It shows a bit of the feel of riding. Kiteboarding is a combination of wakeboarding and a very powerful kite that you control. Unlike toy kites, these pull with extreme force depending on the wind and you can launch/jump out of the water by maneuvering the kite in a certain way. Video shot at Walnut Beach in Milford, CT
warning: kiteboarding is extremely addictive. enjoy…

There's a shot of what the kite looks like that you don't see in the video

What a beautiful day we had. This June has been the rainiest I can remember, but Emma & Bobby had no such weather. This was great as it allowed us to take full advantage of the great grounds at the Branford House in Groton, CT. The wedding was full of life, laughter, tears, and special moments. Thank you to Emma and Bobby for having me as a part of your wedding day.

The beaming bride

The girls.... props to the hair dresser!

Bobby trying to hold back the tears

This was a special moment between the two. I shoot with a long lens on hand and was able to capture this shot from a distance as to not interrupt.

Branford House is great in that it has the ocean, and the gardens as well.

Probably my favorite shot of the day here with the chairs.

Note to future clients: I don't ask anyone to jump in my regular portrait session as some are not up for it....however, if you ask me for the shot I'll gladly set it up for you and capture it. These guys asked for it and pulled it off well very well I must say. So if you'd like a jumping shot in your upcoming wedding be sure to let me know!

NOTE: see above note on jumping shots. Performed on request only :)

The bride and groom took a stroll by themselves to take in the fact that they were officially MARRIED. The walk gave me the opportunity to capture this silhouette.

The first dance...

For those of you who have been to the Branford House, you've seen the gorgeous woodwork in the building. I enjoyed capturing this shot 'ninja-style' of the candid moment framed by the beautiful woodwork of the mansion.

Speaking of the woodwork... I capture shots like this, and other details along each wedding day that I capture. Later on I often use them as a faded background in an album layout to tie the day together.
Helen & Will chose a beautiful location in CT for their wedding. The Cornwall Bridge area near Kent Falls. The ceremony was small and intimate with family & friends at the Breadloaf Mountain Lodge. (a popular fly fishing/outdoor retreat area) We were able to dodge in and out of the mist/rain in the afternoon and sneak away to the woods for some photos. Thanks to you both- as well as your families. All were so kind and made me feel as though I was just another family member enjoying your wedding with you as I captured it.

Found an interesting surface for the rings on a grill top outside the preparation suite…

The guests each gave Helen a flower to add to her bouquet as she walked down the aisle…nice touch!

This area was conveniently located across the road from the ceremony site…

Kent Falls…

A rainy day can always make for some fun photos…
