Harkness Park Eolia Mansion Engagement | Kelly + Scott
A gorgeous sunset engagement session with an incredible couple! Kelly, Scott & I met up at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Connecticut for their engagement photos and the weather did not disappoint!! I love photographing here as the grounds have a little bit of everything. Great architecture, fields, stone walls, ivy covered archways & last but not least…the beach! Big thanks to Kelly & Scott for taking the time to wander the park with me and capture some great photos. I had a great working with these two during this session - as well as their amazing wedding at the Haley Mansion at the Inn at Mystic! For photos from another wedding I captured at the Inn, check out Eriko & Rob’s wedding here: Inn at Mystic
Some history from Harkness State Park on the Eolia Mansion: “Eolia, named after the island home of Aeolus, god of the winds, was the elegant summer mansion of the Harkness family.
Harkness Memorial State Park is set on over 230 seaside acres of sweeping lawns and panoramic views of Long Island Sound. Formal gardens overflow with color and
gentle shore breezes transport your guests back to an era of beauty and elegance. Enjoy.
During the cocktail hour, guests languidly stroll through restored historical gardens seduced by the scent of flowers and the rainbow palette of colors. Admiring fountains, Oriental sculptures and hidden gardens, guests slowly wind their way back to the Mansion where they dine by candlelight and enjoy intimate
conversation as gentle breezes drift through the rooms. As the sun sinks below the horizon in a dramatic burst of pinks and oranges, your guests gather under the tent to continue the magical evening with dancing and celebration.
Dedicated to weddings, celebrations and conferences, Eolia hosts only one event each day. Your event will be a truly unique, special occasion, which will provide memories for a lifetime.”
